The Opportunity
Have you always wanted to get involved in radio but never knew how? Are you interested in finding out what goes on behind the scenes in a radio station? Are you aged between 16-25 years old?
Preston FM is offering a three month volunteer placement for a young adult to join the team following the launch of station full-time, broadcasting 24/7 for the next five years. This will be an opportunity to see how a radio station is run, gaining new skills and experiences along the way.
Job Description
Your role will include:
• Helping out with administrative tasks within the day to day running of the station • Helping out in the studio and assisting volunteers • Editing audio content for broadcast • Helping to develop the youth strand of programming Skills/ Qualifications
• Lots of enthusiasm and an interest in Community Radio • Some organisational skills and computer skills • Be able to work on own initiative and also as part of a team • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Duration of placement 3 Months 10am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
Extra Information In addition to the training available, volunteers will be able to undertake a Youth Achievement Award or Young People’s Arts Award.
There will be an allowance for up to a maximum of £60 per week, to cover travel, subsistence and any other expenses directly related to the volunteering placement.
